A.S 90030 Part Two

For this test we had to pick a subject and write half a page about that topic i choose to do "what are the reasons it is dangerous to drink and drive". This is what i wrote.
Drink driving is not only illegal in our country, but it is also extremely dangerous to operate a vehicle when you are under the influence of alcohol. There are many reasons as to why people decide to drink and drive but there is no excuse to commit such a crime. People drink and drive because they don’t want to stay the night at where the party is or if the pub is shutting and they have to leave, this leads to a dreadful ending, (People getting killed or sent to hospital) because they decide to drive home instead of calling a cab or ringing someone and ask to be picked up.

Some reasons why people drink and drive could be because they are tired and just want to go home, they want to go to a different party because the one they are at is getting boring or because they simply want to go for a drive, these are just a few reasons why people would drink and drive but there is no excuse for it, I think when people are intoxicated they don’t think about what they are doing.

There are a lot of options you can choose rather than drink and drive. You could play a game just like those drink and driving ads you see on television, and the loser has to sober drive. You could organise to be dropped off and be picked up by a close relative or a friend, or you could simply call a taxi when you are ready to go home, see it is not necessary to drink and drive.

Personally I think that people who drink and drive are irresponsible and obviously don’t pay any attention to the news and the ads on television. If you are going to be stupid and drink and drive when you are under the influence of alcohol, why drink? Don’t you no its only going to end in a tragic accident, it’s just like committing suicide or permanently damaging yourself etc ending up with an amputated leg or permanently paralyzing yourself. In the end it is up to you whether you drink and drive or not, make your decision wisely.
